History of Sina Hospital
Sina Hospital is located at the beginning of the Ahvaz-Abadan road in the Kut Abdullah area, which has recently been renamed to Karun County.
Since 1968 (1347 Persian calendar), Sina Hospital has been operating as a pulmonary hospital and a center for tuberculosis patients, as well as the
center for health and treatment networks of Khuzestan Province. In 1976 (1355 Persian calendar), it was renamed from the Center for Tuberculosis
and Pulmonary Patients to Sina Hospital.
During the Imposed War (Iran-Iraq War), due to the strategic location of Sina Hospital and its position on the Ahvaz-Abadan road, it was equipped
as one of the most active hospitals for providing aid and more services to the revered combatants, serving as the main reception center for casualties
of the Imposed War, who were transferred by air and land, 24/7. Consequently, specialized and super-specialized departments (Eye, Dermatology,
Urology, Orthopedics, Dialysis, CCU, Surgery, etc.) were added to it.
In late 2001 (1380 Persian calendar), with the inauguration of the new building of Imam Khomeini Hospital in Ahvaz and based on decisions made
by the then managers and officials of Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences and Health Services, several departments of Sina Hospital
(Eye, Dermatology, and Gastroenterology) along with all their equipment and personnel were transferred to Imam Khomeini Hospital.
Subsequently, through the round-the-clock efforts of the managers, officials, and hardworking staff of the hospital, and by carrying out infrastructure
measures and inaugurating new buildings and departments, it has become a first-class hospital, serving a large population under its health and
treatment services coverage, with 150 approved beds.
In 2013 (1392 Persian calendar), the Kut Abdullah area was introduced as Karun County, granting it special county privileges. Through redoubled efforts
and the high determination of the then hospital officials, the Karun Health and Treatment Network was established. The organizational and administrative
chart of the Karun Network was designed, and its health and treatment centers were specified. Currently, Sina Hospital serves as the only hospital in this county.
This hospital now has 296 approved beds and 250 active beds. It features clinical departments including Emergency, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics
, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Infectious Diseases, Hemodialysis, Male Psychiatry, Female Psychiatry, Operating Room, Intensive Care Units (1 & 2), Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Cardiac Care Unit (CCU), and paraclinical units such as specialized and super-specialized clinics (morning and afternoon), Laboratory, and Radiology.
